Silver Spruce Resources Expands Exploration Team

February 7, 2007, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia - Silver Spruce Resources Inc. (TSXV: SSE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Guy MacGillivray, P.Geo. as Senior Geologist for the company.

Mr. MacGillivray has extensive experience in the exploration and mining industry---including working on uranium projects with Eldorado Nuclear Ltd. and Shell Canada. He will work closely with the Vice President of Exploration to plan, supervise and carry out all of the company's exploration activities, including helping to identify high-priority targets for future drill programs.

Most recently, Mr. MacGillivray spent two years working with Scorpio Mining Corporation on the Nuestra Senora Project in the Sinaloa, Mexico. During this time he was responsible for the construction and maintenance of the drill hole and underground sampling database, deposit modeling, and internal resource estimates. This work was instrumental in helping to advance the understanding of the ore controls and contributed to the discovery of a number of new ore bodies, including the Hoag and September 9th Zones. Mr MacGillivray's work helped advance the project to a production decision.

Mr. MacGillivray (B.Sc., P.Geo.) graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University with a B.Sc. degree (major in geology) and has been a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland since 1990. He has been employed in the exploration and mining industry for the past 29 years on projects throughout North America. He has worked for over 25 years as an exploration geologist for companies such as Rio Algom Ltd., B.P. Selco and Teck Ltd and was involved with exploration and development work at the East Kemptville Tin Deposit, the Hope Brook Gold Deposit and the Voisey's Bay copper/nickel Deposits. Mr. MacGillivray is also credited with the discovery of the White Rock Silica Kaolin Deposit in southwestern Nova Scotia.
