August 14, 2007, Bridgewater, NS - Silver Spruce Resources Inc. (TSXV: SSE) ("Silver Spruce") is pleased to announce that Dr. George Findlay has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Dr. Findlay has been approved by Universal Uranium Ltd. as the common independent director pursuant to the proposed Plan of Arrangement announced previously. Dr. Findlay replaces Daly Snow who relinquished his position as director to allow for the independent director. Silver Spruce appreciates the many contributions of Mr. Snow.
Following Dr. Findlay's graduation from Rothesay Collegiate School in New Brunswick, he studied science and dentistry at Dalhousie University and in 1977 established his private practice in Bath, N.B., until his retirement from dentistry in 2006. In 2007, Dr. Findlay graduated with an MBA degree from The University of Liverpool, completed the Directors course at Simon Fraser University, and obtained his prospector's license by completing a course in prospecting offered through the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources. Since his first investment (Brunswick Mining and Smelting in 1964), Dr. Findlay has been an ardent student of public market activity with a particular focus on mining issues.
